Grandmaster Guo Qing Lang (1881 - ??)

Grandmaster Guo Qing Lang was born in Guo Long, a small town in China. There were also many good martial artists from the town and one of them is Grandmaster Guo. He came to Singapore at the age 31 bringing with him TangShou and Shao-Lin KungFu. He was a businessman who started a trading company in Singapore and through his business contact in the region; he had met up with other KungFu Masters of his time. Through a lot of exchange and research, he has founded a martial art school call Wu Tang Guan. Teaching his style of TangShou Tao KungFu, called Shen KunTangShou.

Shen Kun TangShou is a combination of traditional TangShou, Shao-Lin, Wu-Dang, Ba kua and Hsing-I with both internal and external form with circular movement and flow of energy. It is greatly effective in combat and self-defense with the emphasis on health and longevity.

A very traditional Chinese, Grandmaster Guo believed that this Art should be kept only for the "own people". Thus, he trained only handfuls of close disciple as all training was done behind closed doors and one of such disciple was the late Grandmaster Guo Rui Sheng. However, during World War II, the businesses and the martial arts schools set up by Grandmaster Guo Qing Lang were destroyed.

Grandmaster Guo Rui Sheng (1936-2001)

Grandmaster Guo Rui Sheng continue to train martial arts under Grandmaster Guo Qing Lang after the War. Anarchy reigns in Singapore during the repercussions period. While tasked with continuing and preserving Shen-Kun-Tangshou, he was also very involved in serving the general public. He sacrifices a lot of his time and energy in social services and work. With his selflessness and contribution to the community, the President of Singapore awarded him the title of PBM. Grand Master Guo Rui Sheng, was the Second Generation Successor of Shen Kun TangShou (TangShou Tao KungFu System). He was the founder of The Shen Kun Dai Martial Arts Association (Singapore). He modernized the system by refining it further.

Shen Kun Tangshou

Shen Kun Tangshou is a martial art system based on an ancient martial art call Tangshou originated from Tang Dynasty, China, which has proven it's worth with history and time as witness. Shen Kun Tanghou is also known as Tangshou Tao Kungfu and is famous for its combative form of martial art. This is a martial art with a combination of traditional Tangshou, Shao-Lin, Wu-Dang, Ba-Kua and Hsing-I with both "internal" and "external" form with circular movement and flow of energy that can be seen in it's forms and patterns. It's motion and movement is both fluent and firm. Only experienced martial artists and Tangshou practitioners would know the gist behind each movement and forms.

Tangshou Tao Kungfu (Combative)

Practitioners of Tangshou Tao are taught to combine their "qigong" with their combat techniques. This will allow each and every technique to be deliver with great power. There is no rules and restriction when it comes to fighting using Tangshou Tao. Every part of your body can be use as a weapon against your enemy. You can see this in the forms and pattern of Tangshou Tao Kungfu, it's techniques are always in fluent motion, techniques after techniques. When it comes to a certain level of apprenticeship, students are assessed according to their understanding in the various techniques, the fluency in the execution of their forms.
